Job description

 

 

2nd Shift opening
Pay: $16.00/hr - $25.00/hr depending on experience.

 

Fit and layout components, weld aluminum and steel component parts to make gate assemblies per blueprints and job travelers using MIG welding equipment. Work with department lead and engineering (occasionally) to resolve print issues. Collaborate with operations support and supervisor to resolve job traveler questions and troubleshoot production floor issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:

• Safely set up and operator of metal working equipment such as horizontal band saw, drill press, tube roller, abrasive pipe notcher, and welding machines needed to fabricate steel and aluminum ornamental and/ or chain link gates, fence sections, and panel extensions.
• Follow print and job traveler instructions to assure compliance with customer specifications.
• Lay out and position components timely and accurately. • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts in place to secure for welding operations safely and accurately.
• Records all activities timely and accurately on paperwork and in production software system (ERP System)
• Inspects parts as required to assure quality product is being produced
• Immediately notifies supervisor if component parts or parts being made are nonconforming or if there is an issue making quality product
• Other duties may be assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s): High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training in similar environment. Two (2) years of the following: Welding experience, Manufacturing experience a plus, able to read welding symbols, blueprints proficiently. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to read tape measure to 32nds of an inch. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
